The Olympic Model Railroad Society (OMRS), located at the Thurston County Fairgrounds in Lacey, Washington has been promoting HO scale model railroading for more than 30 years. During that time the Clubhouse has provided a railroad exhibit of railroading in the Thurston County area for the local citizens during the annual County Fair.
The OMRS is open all year, with minor holiday closures at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We meet on Thursday evenings, 6 PM to 10 PM and on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. The Clubhouse is open to the public on all of these days. The Society does hold a business meeting on the first Thursday of the month. Most of the times, we are working on parts of the layout, with general operations held on the third Thursday of the month.
The society layout is a general depiction of the area and industries that have been a part of Thurston County history. More details are on the 'Clubhouse' page.
We hope you take a moment to check out the Photo Gallery, past club car offerings (we hope to do more), go through the wonderful comments and photos of the UP844 Special page and to perhaps sign our guest book. Additions happen frequently, so come back and see us again!
